African Children's Choir
When the African Children's Choir visited her church a few years ago, something happened to Connie and her husband John. They were fortunate to join the members of the Choir during their private morning worship times. Many of them had been orphaned and had come from such want, yet they worshipped God with pure joy and thanksgiving. It was through the witness of their worship that God began to speak to the Careys' hearts about getting outside of their small, sanitized world and being available for Him. Which leads to Connie's next "favorite thing".

Her Husband, John
Among other talents, her wonderful husband is a foodie and a great chef. He remembers every meal (and how it was prepared) from every restaurant he's ever visited. Seeing Julia Child's kitchen and having his picture snapped next to her picture was the highlight of his visit to the Smithsonian a couple of summers ago.
The very next day, the couple saw the movie "Julie & Julia" and couldn't believe it when Julie had her picture taken next to Julia in the Smithsonian! If John was a blogger, the movie might have ended up titled "John & Julia" instead!
Her mom, Trixie
Connie is so proud of her mom for many reasons. For Trixie's 87th birthday, she wanted to climb a mountain, so she did. Now, in her 90's, she's the inspiration for one of Connie's most popular talks: "How To Be a Super-Ager".
e3 Partners Ministry
SO...as a result, they went on their first trip with e3 partners to Panama in October 2010 and saw God do things that only He can do, drawing hearts to Himself. They testify that they will never be the same!
Hungry for more, the following June, they travelled to Uganda with a team dedicated to evangelism, discipleship and church planting. They also assisted a medical clinic and HIV/AIDS education to reach these villages with the gospel. It was an incredible week of
God transforming lives and expanding His kingdom.
Brothers, Mark and Bruce
When Mark walks in the room, Connie turns 13 again.
The addition of Bruce, later in life to this "dynamic trio"
is a story that will encourage you in life's unexpected moments.
